Calibration of radon monitor type 1056A with radon seeds

- (Commercial radon seeds'' (short lengths of fine gold capillary tubing filled with radon) are allowed to decay until their content is between 10/sup -12/ and 5 x 10/sup -11/ curies each. The seed is then fused in a closed vessel, and the radon thus released is passed into the ionization chamber of the monitor. Counts obtainod for these radon samples are plotted against the known radon concentration, and the resulting curve provides a convenient form of calibration chart. (auth)., Mimeogr.)
